Eric “Roscoe” Ambel Interview: Winning tickets to see The Ramones & The Dictators in LA, which changed the entire trajectory of his life… forming the Del Lords, playing with Dan Baird, Steve Earle… moving from LA to the East Village in NYC, the good, bad and ugly about playing CBGB’s (which he did several dozen times, including an initial weekly residency)... owning a local bar in NYC, touring with Iggy Pop, Lou Reed & Jackson Browne… quitting alcohol for 7 years, watching a friend spiral out of control with drugs, being open to new things and continuing to learn. Eric “Roscoe” Ambel Interview: Eric is a guitarist/singer/songwriter and producer, currently living in NYC. He was the lead guitarist in Joan Jett’s original Blackhearts, touring for 2 years & playing on her I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll album. He co-founded New York’s Del Lords… as well as the Yayhoos, with ex-Georgia Satellites frontman Dan Baird. He also spent almost 6 years as the lead guitarist in Steve Earle’s touring & recording band. Eric’s also a successful producer/studio owner who’s worked with the Bottle Rockets, the Blood Oranges, Nils Lofgren, Freedy Johnston, Blue Mountain, Ryan Adams, Robert Randolph, Steve Wynn, Marshall Crenshaw and others. He’s released 5 solo LPs & as a session player, worked on records with Jimbo Mathus, Run DMC, Mojo Nixon, Dan Baird & others
